Samuel Burt’s poetry has been featured in Colorado Review, Arc Poetry Magazine, The Journal, and Salt Hill, and a number of other print and online magazines. In 2024, Sam was selected as the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association’s Gwenn A. Nusbaum Scholar, and in 2022, his poem “Hunter’s Moon” was a winner of the AWP’s Intro Journals Project. Sam grew up in Grinnell, IA, where he went on to receive a Russian degree from Grinnell College. Sam recently completed his MFA in creative writing from Bowling Green State University, reads for Fahmidan, and works at a college library in Iowa.
